Last weekend I held my Photography for Beginners course in Haenertsburg. We had a great group of 7 students who were very keen to learn and asked lots of interesting questions. The first day was bright sunshine and very hot, we spent our time practicing on the surrounding area, using flowers, leaves, jugs, cars, anything we could, we used to practice different aperture settings and shutter speed settings.
Day 2 it was overcast and raining to start, so any ideas I had of taking the group for a walk to capture our beautiful surroundings had to be forgotten. Luckily by the time our models arrived it had stopped raining so we were able to take them outside for photographs and the diffused overcast sky allowed us to use wide open areas without having to escape the direct sunlight all the time.
Here are some photographs of everyone in action.
and here are some photographs I took of our models Sadie and Sebastian, they were brilliant to work with!
Here are some kind words received at the end of the course:
“Penny has a calm confidence which makes the camera not quite such a scary tool! I have left the course with a renewed energy.”
“I learned so much about my camera and what can be done to improve images in two days – much more than expected. Thank you”
“I found the course very informative. Penny made it all clear and easy to understand. I now feel I can use my camera with confidence.”
My next Photography for Beginners course is in Pietermaritzburg on the 23rd and 24th March, if you would like further information please send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org.
