This past weekend I held my Photography for Beginners Course in Magoebaskloof. I had a full class with a great group of men and ladies that gelled together really well and had some great banter going between everyone. The morning was spent explaining all about their cameras and the settings on their cameras with lots of practice sessions in between. Then the afternoon was spent talking more about composition and other elements that come into play with photography. I got my own kids to model for us this time as the group had said for the afternoon practice session that they wanted a mix between photographing kids and nature photography to practice on so we spent a bit of time photographing my kids before going for a hilly walk to take a few photos of the area.
My little one didn’t take to well to being photographed, she was a bit overwhelmed by all the cameras pointing in her face so we didn’t push her and soon she was copying her big brother and sister and joining in for a split second before rushing off again. They all loved the water play though. Here are some photos I took demonstrating open shade, leading lines and changing perspective, before we changed our settings to take photos of them jumping in the water.
and here is some feedback from the course:
“I thoroughly enjoyed the photography course and Penny makes everything look so easy. Will definitely be able to use my camera much better!”
“I had great fun! Lots of “O” moments when functions finally made sense. Thank you so much!”
“I was surprised to know what my camera was capable of doing. I thought I knew how to take photos well, but everything I learnt today, really makes a massive difference. Thank you!!”
Thanks again to those of you that joined me on Saturday, I am looking forward to watching your photography develop.
