I am based in Howick in KwaZulu Natal and have been a photographer for over 14 years now, specializing in Newborn and Family Photography for most of that time, so you can rest easy knowing that your brand new bundle of joy or your energetic toddler will be in safe and experienced hands during their session with me. I take great care in making sure each session suits each and every families needs. I am not easily flustered and always manage to get the photographs that are wanted during the session, even if your little one isn’t having a great day, I still manage to tickle a few giggles out of them eventually.

Maternity Information
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A MATERNITY SHOOT
The best time to have a maternity photoshoot is between 34 and 36 weeks (however I do suggest having it slightly earlier if you are having multiples). Please try book your session when you are around 20 weeks to ensure availability.
CLOTHING FOR A MATERNITY SHOOT
I have invested in a variety of dresses and outfits for Maternity photoshoots so if you aren’t sure what to wear you are welcome to borrow those at no additional costs. For the ladies that are more confident in their bodies the contemporary shoots are a beautiful way to document this time, I ensure that you are relaxed at all times and that your nude images are tasteful and timeless.
DO YOU OFFER MATERNITY AND NEWBORN COMBO SESSIONS
In short, yes. If you decide to book and confirm at Maternity and Newborn session at the same time I offer 10% off the final invoice.
HOW LONG DO SESSIONS LAST
With the different type of sessions on offer the time changes for each shoot. If you would like a simple outdoor lifestyle photography session this session can take 30 minutes, however if you would like an outdoor lifestyle session and an indoor contemporary session this can take about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Newborn Information
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A NEWBORN SHOOT
A newborn shoot should ideally be booked when you are in your third trimester. A date is penciled into my calendar approximately a week after your due date (if you are planning on having a natural delivery) but the date will be moved if your baby arrives early or late.
The ideal time to photograph a newborn is between 5 and 10 days new or before they are 2 weeks old. As soon as they get a bit older they get more sensitive to touch and are awake for longer periods.
HOW LONG DO SESSIONS TAKE
Newborn sessions can take anywhere between 1 hour to 3 hours depending on how much settling, feeding and burping needs to be done. I don’t rush a session as I know everything is new and can be overwhelming. Before the session I will email you a preparation guide which, if followed, definitely does help your session to run more smoothly.
DOES THE SESSION INCLUDE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS
Yes! A very important part of having newborn photographs taken is to have family photographs taken too. I know, as a new Mom, you won’t really feel up to it, but I promise to photograph you in the most flattering way and to take a variety of photographs for you to choose from. If you have older children that you would like included in the session too, that’s not a problem, please make sure you let me know beforehand so I can make sure I’m prepared for that.
If the sibling is still quite young and you aren’t happy with them holding their new brother or sister I have a way of photographing them so that they aren’t touching but will still be in an image together.
WHERE WILL THE SESSION TAKE PLACE
Your newborn session can either take place at my home studio, or I can come to your home. As long as we have a nice big room to set-up in I can bring all my equipment including my studio light to ensure we have good light for your session.
HOW MUCH DOES A NEWBORN SESSION COST
Packages start at R2300 for a wrapped mini-session at my studio and include 10 digital images of your choice. Further packages increase from there. Please email me for a detailed price list.

Sitter Information
DOES MY BABY NEED TO BE SITTING FOR THE 6 MONTH SESSION
If you would like your session to take place at 6 months of age and your baby isn’t quite sitting, thats fine, we can sit your baby in a basket or bucket to ensure they don’t fall over and hurt themselves during the session. However if you would prefer to wait a few more weeks until they are sitting we will definitely be able to get more variety for your gallery then.
CLOTHING FOR A SITTER SHOOT
I have invested in a variety of dresses / hats and outfits for sitter photoshoots and have different backdrops that can be used to create different looks. You are welcome to bring a few of your favorite outfits too for some more relaxed photographs should you wish.
HOW LONG DO SESSIONS LAST
With a sitter session I work quickly as I know I only have their attention for a short time. I ask you to let me know when their nap time is so we can schedule the shoot after their morning nap when they are hopefully at their happiest. If they need a little snack when you arrive, that’s fine, we can start working once they are fed and happy. I try and ensure we get at least 3 different set-ups from a photoshoot for your gallery.

As the backdrops used for these sessions are quite large they can only take place at my home studio in Howick.

Cake Smash Information
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A CAKE SMASH SHOOT
You have two options here, you can either book a cake smash shoot for 4 weeks before your child’s first birthday so you can use the artwork to create an invitation for their birthday or you can have their cake smash on their birthday (or around their birthday) to celebrate their special day. A cake smash photoshoot is best done when your baby is at their happiest, I would suggest booking a time after they have had their morning nap so they can wake up, have a feed and then have their cake smash feeling well rested and happy.
HOW LONG DO SESSIONS TAKE
A cake smash shoot usually lasts about 45 minutes. I work as quickly as possible as I know that babies can loose interest pretty quickly. As soon as I know we have a good variety of cake smash photographs I will move on to the clean up part of the session, which the babies love.
DOES THE SESSION INCLUDE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS
I have a few different package options available, if you choose the Delux Photoshoot, this does include family photographs before the cake smash part of the session.
WHERE WILL THE SESSION TAKE PLACE
As the backdrops used for these sessions are really large the sessions will need to take place at my home studio in Howick.
HOW MUCH DOES A CAKE SMASH SESSION COST
Prices start at R2200 for a basic set-up and includes 10 images of your choice (this option does not include a cake). The most popular option is the Deluxe session which is R3600 and includes a more intricate set-up, the cake as well as family photographs and 30 images of your choice.

Lifestyle Information
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A FAMILY SHOOT
A family photoshoot can place any time during the year, each different season you will get different “backdrops” to your photographs, so it just depends on whether you would like nice sunny summery images or wrapped up wintery images.
HOW LONG DO SESSIONS TAKE
A custom family photography session can last up to 1 hour (however if more time is needed I will stay until we have all the photographs wanted). I leave plenty of time for snacks or toilet breaks for the kids if needed. We can go to a few different locations close to each other for different feels in your images and we can have a change of outfits too, if you want.
CAN GRANDPARENTS ATTEND THE SHOOT
Yes, the grandparents are welcome to attend your photoshoot (and I love being able to create images that I know they will cherish), however there is a small charge of R100 for every extra person attending the photoshoot).

Once you have booked your shoot with me I will forward you a detailed information pack with details and examples of what to expect out of your shoot and some tips on what to wear.

Studio Information
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A STUDIO SHOOT
The joys of having a photoshoot in the studio is that the sessions can take place all year round no matter the weather.
HOW LONG DO SESSIONS TAKE
A shoot usually lasts about 45 minutes. I work as quickly especially with younger kids as I know we only have their attention for a short amount of time.
DOES THE SESSION INCLUDE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS
Yes, I take photographs of everyone together, siblings together as well as individual photographs.
