Hello Everyone,
I know that I am a few weeks off but Happy New Year, further down this post you will see why I have waited until now to write this blog post.
2013 was an amazing year for myself and my family. We have fully settled into “Mountain Life” and are loving living in the Bush. The friends that we have made, the places we have seen and the outdoor lifestyle we now lead has been exactly what we wanted when we left the UK in 2012. Yes, the Mountain can be pretty wet at times but we definitely get a lot more sunny days here than we did in the UK – and one thing I never do is complain about the heat when we are having a 35+ degree weather day:)
We have adopted another dog now so our labrador has another labby play mate, they get up to a lot of mischief together and our garden has seen better days but the kids adore them and they are great company on our runs and walks.
I included them in our Christmas Card Photoshoot in early December but never added them to the card in the end due to lack of space. This is one of my first draft collage’s that I put together:
Christmas was a very busy time with us, we had all of our family travel up from Natal to come and stay with us (a 10 hour journey), we were very lucky with the weather while they were here so we were able to enjoy the great outdoors with lots of time spent at the Lakes and Rivers, fishing and braaing and having good clean fun.
Yesterday we had a scan to confirm the news that Carolan baby number 3 will be due in July. We are very excited to be growing our little family and have waited until now to announce our news. Since finding out I was pregnant I have been thinking of ways that I could announce it using my photography skills and decided to incorporate these images in our announcement posts on Facebook yesterday:
So, 2014 is going to be another exciting year for us. Our kids have started in their new grades at school and loving it and we will be growing in July. Yay, my very own Newborn to practice on again, I can’t wait:)
As for my Photography, it has gone from strength to strength, I have loved meeting and taking photographs of so many local families. I held my first mini-day photoshoot in October which was a great success so please keep an eye on my blog for those images coming soon. My Photography Trainings have been a huge success, I have run so many more trainings than I had planned to run due to people contacting me and desperately wanting the courses to run, so they have found friends to come on the courses and had their own private courses done when they have wanted them. It has worked out brilliantly.
I will be starting to take it easy from June but I doubt I will be able to keep away from my camera for too long in 2014:)
Thank you to all of you who have supported me and offered me support over the past year, it is friends and clients like you that make running a business like mine so worthwhile.
xx
