I am often asked to explain the difference between a Studio photoshoot and a Lifestyle photoshoot.  I am fortunate to be in a position where I can offer both styles of photography, some clients love the lifestyle look, while others want the clean cut studio look in their images.  Obviously, being a photographer, the best way I can explain the difference is through images I have created.  I am going to do a post for each genre of photography I work in.

Lifestyle / Outdoor photoshoots can take place anywhere really, at your home, a local park or forest or a venue you love.  One thing I have learnt through my journey as a photographer is to find the best light to create beautiful images no matter where I am, before I start a shoot I always have a walk around the location and decide on the best spots to take the photos.  Light is one of the most important elements to photography and, I feel, it can make or break a photo.

Here are some examples of Lifestyle Family Images

Studio photography can be a lot more plain and timeless.  A real positive of having a studio is that a shoot can take place no matter the weather.  I have 3 main coloured backgrounds I use, white, cream and black and I try capture a variety of images on the backdrops so you have different images to choose.

With my family photography you will see that I love capturing the closeness of a family.  I get every snuggled up to show the bond and love in their images.
